Thank god Vs ThankS god

According to the Oxford Dictionary, the correct way of saying thanks to god is THANKS god...
We always say "thank god", "thank god" and what we really meant was LUCKY.
Eg, Thank god i did not fail my exam,
What we meant was, Lucky i did not fail my exam..
We are not thanking god here...
We are just saying how lucky is we are....

The only time we use THANKS GOD is when we are thanking him...
Assuming you are talking to your friend, you say "thanks for your help"
so the e.g that we will use for god is, thanks god, you fulfilled my crave (what ever you wanna say)

So remember to put a S behind your word THANK when you are thanking god or anyone..
and without S is used when we wanna mean LUCKY...

When to use “Thank God”:

“Thank God” is actually a shortened version of “Thanks be to God” which means that you are telling the others (your friends or whoever) that you are thankful to God.

“Thank God” is in the same way as “Praise God”.

“Thank God” is also correct because you are using “Thank” as a verb I (we) thank God.

Unless:

You are praying or directly conversing with God, then you would say “Thanks, God”.

“Thanks, god” should actually mean “Thank You God” if he was in front of you.

“Thanks” is an informal way of saying “Thank You” so highly unlikely to use “Thanks, God” to an almighty being.
